DENTAL PROSTHETICS

Losing teeth is not a sentence nowadays.

Dental prosthetics can help a person restore chewing function, allow freely speaking and smiling. Modern materials and the latest technologies make it possible to recreate the structure and moist shine of enamel so accurately that an artificial tooth (crown) will not differ from the adjacent healthy teeth. Often, it is not as scary as it seems, and it is possible to manage with the installation of dental veneers.

Main Stages

When selecting the most suitable method of dental prosthetics for a patient, the doctor must consider the following factors:

1
Bite characteristics.
2
Budget constraints.
3
Age.
4
The number of lost teeth.
5
The condition of the gums (active resorption of jawbone tissue after tooth extraction may require a series of preparatory stages before proceeding with prosthetics).
6
Patient's preferences regarding the appearance of the prosthesis, color, shape, and texture. This is important for achieving not only functionality but also satisfying aesthetic expectations.

Service Prices

The cost depends on the type and complexity of the damaged tooth. The final price of the service can be determined during an appointment with our dentist.

Types of Prosthetics

Depending on the type of constructions used, prosthetics can be divided into two main directions:
Removable (the prosthesis can be removed from the oral cavity and put on independently). Removable prostheses have special hooks and clasps by which the artificial construction is fixed on healthy teeth. These can be clasp dentures, nylon, or reinforced with a metal mesh.

Fixed (the artificial construction is in the oral cavity for the entire service life of the prosthesis). Fixed prostheses are secured in the oral cavity using titanium implants, which allows preserving healthy teeth from grinding and extending the service life of the construction. The roots of healthy teeth, previously depulped, can also serve as support. However, there is a risk of rapid loosening of the support roots, shortening the service life of the construction.

There is also micro-prosthetics – a way to save damaged teeth by using special inlays that are manufactured based on impressions taken from the remnants of the tooth crown. A part of the crown is manufactured based on the impressions, which is then fixed similarly to a filling.
