Dental implantation

Modern dentistry, through dental implantation, has given people who have lost their teeth a real chance to restore not only their chewing function but also the beauty of their smile.и.

This method of restoring lost teeth is rightly considered the most reliable and durable. During the dental implantation process, special structures - implants - are embedded in the jawbone, which essentially replace the roots of the teeth, and to which the dental prosthesis is directly attached.

CHOOSING AN IMPLANT

At Millennium Clinic dentistry, implants from manufacturers such as Straumann (Switzerland), MegaGen (South Korea), Osstem (South Korea), and Neodent (A Straumann Group Brand) are used. If necessary, implants from other manufacturers can also be used. In selecting an implant, doctors consider the features of the dental-jaw system's anatomy and the condition of the bone tissue, as well as the patient's preferences.

Millennium Clinic uses screw-type implants made from titanium alloys or zirconium dioxide, which are easily screwed into the bone tissue and gum due to their threading without large incisions. This leads to rapid healing, the implant materials have a high degree of biocompatibility with the jaw bone tissue, are hypoallergenic, and are almost never rejected by the human body.

A dental implant consists of the following components:

01 The implant – an artificial root that is embedded in the bone tissue of the upper or lower jaw;
02 The abutment – an adapter that connects the implant and the crown part of the dental prosthesis;
03 The crown – the prosthesis that replaces the lost tooth.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Absolute contraindications

01Serious systemic diseases: certain systemic diseases such as uncontrolled diabetes, heart diseases, or cancer can affect the healing process and the success of the implantation.
02Diseases of the gums and bone tissue: patients with periodontitis or insufficient bone volume may be denied implantation without prior treatment.
03Immunodeficiency states and some autoimmune diseases: patients with weakened immune systems may have an increased risk of infections and delayed healing.
04Blood clotting disorders.
05Alcohol and drug addiction.
06Mental illnesses accompanied by inadequate behavior.

Relative contraindications

01Recent surgeries on the jaws or face: patients who have recently undergone surgeries on the jaws or face may require additional time to recover before undergoing dental implantation.
02Taking certain medications: some medications, such as bisphosphonates used to treat osteoporosis, may increase the risk of developing jaw necrosis.
03Pregnancy: due to potential risks to the mother and child, dental implantation is generally not recommended during pregnancy.
04Smoking: smoking can slow the healing process and increase the risk of implant rejection.
05Childhood and adolescence under 18 years of age.
06Infectious diseases: acute infections must be cured before proceeding with implantation.

IMPLANTATION OPTIONS

CLASSIC TWO-STAGE IMPLANTATION

CLASSIC TWO-STAGE IMPLANTATION

Classic two-stage implantation includes two main stages:

First Stage– this is a surgical operation during which the implant is embedded into the jawbone. This is followed by a waiting period, which can last from several weeks to several months, during which osteointegration, or the fusion of the implant with the bone, occurs.

Second stage– this involves the installation of the abutment and crown (artificial tooth) that replaces the lost tooth. It's important to understand that two-stage implantation is a process that requires time and patience. But the result is a stable, reliable, and aesthetically pleasing tooth that will serve you for many years. If you have any questions or concerns, be sure to discuss them with the implantology dentists at Millennium Clinic. They will provide you with all the necessary information and support at every step of the process.

COMPLEX IMPLANTATION

All-on-4

This technique allows for the restoration of a full dental arch using just four implants. Two implants are placed vertically in the frontal area, and two others are angled in the distal parts of the jaw. A non-removable dental prosthesis is fixed on these implants. This method is particularly recommended in cases where there is a small volume of bone tissue. Advantages of this method include reduced operation time and fewer implants required.

All-on-6

This method is similar to the “All-on-4” method but uses six implants instead of four. Two implants are placed in the smile zone and four in the masticatory area. The 'All-on-6' implantation provides greater stability and may be more suitable for patients with a larger volume of bone tissue. Advantages of this method include a more secure attachment of the prosthesis and the possibility to restore a greater number of teeth.
